Visitor Services Admissions Team Member (Seasonal)
About The Position
The Visitor Services Team Member is responsible for processing General Admission and Memphis Zoo membership sales as well as providing visitor assistance upon entry to the Zoo. This seasonal position is defined as temporary work to meet an organization’s temporary needs during certain times of the year and can last up to 6 months. This position can be scheduled to work approximately up to 40 hours per week, with scheduling at the discretion of the manager. This position is considered non-exempt under the federal and state wage and hour laws. This position regularly requires flexible hours including weekdays, holidays, and weekends including early morning, daytime, and evening hours to provide coverage during Zoo hours of operation.
Requirements
- Demonstrate proficiency in POS (point-of-sale) systems.
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service in a professional and friendly manner.
- Proactive, flexible, and able to use sound judgement in making decisions related to guest issues.
- Adhere to Zoo policy and safety protocols.
- One year of relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience, demonstrating the applicant's ability to perform the responsibilities and requirements outlined above.
- Clear background check.
- Clear drug screening.

Nice To Haves
- Previous cash handling experience in entertainment, sports, or hospitality organization.
- Bilingual or ability to effectively communicate with individuals who speak different languages.
Responsibilities
- Process sales cash and credit card transactions using a POS system.
- Promote Zoo membership sales.
- Answer visitor questions regarding Zoo memberships, ticketing, special events, and general Zoo information.
- Assist in crowd control in various weather conditions.
- Various administration duties on an as-needed basis.
