Visitor Services Associate
About The Position
The International Crane Foundation (ICF) is seeking a Visitor Services Associate for a seasonal, hourly role at their headquarters in Baraboo, Wisconsin. This position pays $15.45 per hour and offers flexible hours, running from now through October 31st. The role involves creating a welcoming environment for visitors, managing retail operations, and supporting ICF's conservation mission through customer service, retail management, and educational outreach. The associate will be responsible for ensuring a seamless visitor experience, promoting fair trade and environmentally friendly merchandise, and contributing to ICF's sustainability and educational efforts.
Requirements
- Knowledge of basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and calculating percentages.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, E-mail, and Internet.
- Attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Responsiveness to management direction; able to follow organizational policies and procedures.
- Observes safety and security procedures.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of POS software.
- One to two years' experience in retail sales.
- Retail experience in a non-profit, museum, zoo, or fair-trade organization.
Responsibilities
- Create a welcoming and engaging environment for visitors.
- Assist in the daily operations of the retail store.
- Manage retail sales processes, including pricing, discounts, tax calculation, and transaction completion.
- Stock shelves, arrange merchandise, and set up displays.
- Promote and sell ICF memberships to visitors.
- Answer visitor questions and process new membership sign-ups.
- Assist with member benefits.
- Support ICF's sustainability and educational efforts through merchandise sales.
