About The Position

The Visitor Information Program Assistant II is responsible for speaking a designated language as well as the English language while conversing with the traveling public and others, and for providing interpreter services as required. This is in addition to the duties of the next lower level of this series.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • High degree of verbal skill.
  • One (1) year work experience which demonstrated positive evidence that applicants possess patience, tact, and an even temper in meeting and dealing with others.
  • Knowledge of and ability to speak one of the following languages in addition to the English language: Japanese, Mandarin, Korean, Tagalog, Hawaiian, Samoan, Spanish, French.
  • Must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within ten years from the date of the application for SIDA clearance.
  • Must successfully undergo a fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding ten years.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing hospitality or customer service catering to the traveling public.
