About The Position

The Visitor Information Program Assistant II is responsible for greeting, welcoming, and assisting the traveling public at the Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airports at Keahole, for providing information of interest to visitors to encourage travel to the major islands in the Hawaiian chain; and for incidentally performing various clerical duties and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • High degree of verbal skill
  • One (1) year of work experience which demonstrated positive evidence that applicants possess patience, tact, and an even temper in meeting and dealing with others
  • Knowledge of and ability to speak one of the following languages in addition to the English language: Japanese, Mandarin, Korean, Tagalog, Hawaiian, Samoan, Spanish, French
  • Possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment
  • Must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check
  • Must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within ten years from the date of the application to be granted SIDA clearance
