About The Position

Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens offers world-class horticulture, art & nature-based exhibitions and educational programs. The 13-acre indoor and outdoor facility situated two miles from downtown Columbus features glasshouses including the historic John F. Wolfe Palm House; botanical gardens including the Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation Children’s Garden and Scotts Miracle Gro-Foundation Community Garden Campus; and event venues. The Conservatory is home to the largest collection of Chihuly glass in a botanical garden and Light Raiment II by internationally renowned artist James Turrell. The Visitor Experience Associate provides excellent customer service while engaging with guests at the Ticket Center both in person and on the telephone. The Visitor Experience Associate also offers information and interpretation to our guests while staffing additional areas as needed. This is a part-time, seasonal position working an average of 25 hours per week from September, 2026- January 10, 2027.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year cash handling and register experience.
• Ability to work weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Outstanding customer service skills displayed in a positive and friendly manner.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and comfortable meeting and engaging with guests.
• Knowledge of cash procedures and register operations.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
• Basic computer skills including email, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service for both internal and external guests of the Conservatory.
• Greets, acknowledges, and provides Conservatory event information to guests, suggests membership, and processes transactions for admission tickets, memberships, and class registrations.
• Demonstrates accurate cash handling and reconciliation skills.
• Administers the opening and closing procedures of the Visitor Center.
• Answers the main phone line and responds to inquiries.
• Makes every effort to find solutions to visitor concerns.
• Engages guests in formal and informal information and collection interpretation throughout the Conservatory.
• Staffs butterfly doors, engaging with guests and ensuring USDA compliance.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned and demonstrates focus on serving the guests of the Conservatory.
