About The Position

The purpose of this role is to provide patrons with a positive memorable experience while viewing galleries, learning about artists, shopping, and enjoying food and beverage. The Visitor Experience Associate Level 3 has broad knowledge and experience and works in the café, retail shop, and front desk at the Art Center, Art Preserve, and ARTSpace. At times, oversees management of SHOP when working alone. This role will fill in when other staff are out. This role cross trains other staff members on the Customer Relations Management (CRM) system and Point of Sale (POS) and is primary subject matter expert for the system.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2 years’ experience in customer service including opening and closing
  • 3 years’ experience in retail field
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Maintain and/or obtain State of Wisconsin bartending license
  • Sales skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Products
  • Understand inventory procedures
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Proactive self-starter

  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Knowledge of artists and programming

Responsibilities

  • Receives and processes invoices to ensure payment for orders and merchandise.
  • Cross train staff in the Café, SHOP, and Front Desk on CRM/POS and operational procedures.
  • Produce and audit daily sales reports from CRM/POS system, prepare deposits, and ensure accurate cash drawer balances and credit card transactions.
  • Assist with merchandising products by researching artists.
  • Respond to inquiries and educate patrons about menu, programming, merchandise, exhibits, and local resources.
  • Act as backup manager for the SHOP.
  • Sell tickets, camps, classes, membership, preschool tuition, alcoholic beverages, and merchandise utilizing CRM and POS systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.
