About The Position

The student's research is focused on aerosol-cloud-precipitation interactions in marine warm low clouds. For this, they will use Large Eddy Simulation (LES) models and observations made at the DOE Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) sites. During the visit, the student will refine current model runs on LCRC Clusters, work with a mentor to use observations for validation, finalize analysis, and report results in a peer-reviewed journal article.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
  • Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution, OR graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months, OR actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
  • The entirety of the appointment must be conducted within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Refine Large Eddy Simulation (LES) model runs.
  • Use observations for validating model runs.
  • Finalize analysis of research data.
  • Report research results in a peer-reviewed journal article.
