About The Position

The project will comprise of operating chemical analysis instrumentation such as liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry for separating and identification of the chemical fragments produced during the degradation of polymeric materials used in fuel cells, electrolyzers and batteries. The work will also comprise data analysis involving machine learning based data retrieval and selection steps, as well as building a user-interface to facilitate analysis for unknown chemical analytes. These two integrated activities are commensurate with the expected student current experience, while helping them develop practical knowledge and acquire hands-on experience on high-end analytical insturmentation.

Requirements

  • The entirety of the appointment must be conducted within the United States.
  • Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
  • Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution.
  • Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months.
  • Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
