About The Position

Mrs. Dorcas Joseph is a Ph.D. candidate in the Physics Department at Northern Illinois University. She will work at Argonne with Andreas Glatz on the properties of superconducting microelectronic devices. Her work is in theoretical condensed matter physics, focusing on the simulation of the superconducting dynamics within these devices. She will study mitigation strategies for the removal of magnetic flux from the underlying circuits using a combination of large-scale simulation and machine learning techniques. She will do office work only.

Requirements

  • The entirety of the appointment must be conducted within the United States
  • Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins
  • Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution
  • Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months
  • Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution

Responsibilities

  • Work at Argonne with Andreas Glatz on the properties of superconducting microelectronic devices
