About The Position

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, is seeking a Visiting Lecturer of Computer Science and Engineering to begin Fall 2026. TAMIU is a Hispanic Serving Institution located in Laredo, Texas, dedicated to advancing knowledge through research, teaching, community engagement, and a focus on student success and research excellence. This is a Fixed-term, 9-month Visiting Lecturer appointment. The primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate computer science and computer engineering courses such as Machine Learning, Signals and Systems, and introductory programming. The role also involves advising and mentoring students, including Senior Design activities, and participating in assessment, accreditation, and other service activities for the School of Engineering. This position requires regular on-campus presence and face-to-face interactions.

Requirements

  • Hold an earned M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline by the start of the appointment.
  • Prior college-level teaching experience.
  • Qualified to teach undergraduate courses in one or more areas of School need.
  • Able to teach across multiple areas of the computer science and computer engineering curricula.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching or professional expertise in machine learning, signals and systems, programming, or related areas.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching undergraduate computer science and computer engineering courses, including Machine Learning, Signals and Systems, and introductory programming.
  • Advising and mentoring students, including Senior Design activities as appropriate.
  • Participate in assessment, accreditation, and other service activities as needed by the School of Engineering.
