About The Position

Primary instructional duties include directing musical theatre productions, and applied voice and acting instruction. The position may also teach courses such as Introduction to Theatre, Special Topics in Theatre, and Singing Styles. Additional responsibilities include recruiting high-caliber students locally and regionally, cultivating productive partnerships with school and community theatre programs, and demonstrating a collaborative, collegial approach in working with faculty across departments to produce concerts and theatrical events that advance the University’s mission. This faculty appointment is for one academic year (9-month). Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Requirements

  • At least an earned Master of Music, Master of Arts, Master of Fine Arts, or a Doctorate with a specialization in musical theatre or voice
  • At least three years of experience in musical theatre
  • Official transcripts must be provided in an unopened, sealed envelope and must bear the embossed or raised college seal, date and Registrar’s signature.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocalist with professional performance experience in musical theatre
  • Extensive knowledge of musical theatre repertory and the professional theatre world
  • Knowledge of singing in various styles, including pop, rock, gospel, and jazz
