About The Position

Oklahoma State University’s College of Arts and Sciences seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor of Political Science to teach sections of POLS 1113: American Government as a member of our Cowboy Concurrent Academy faculty. Cowboy Concurrent Academy faculty teach concurrent courses to talented, motivated high-school students from across the State of Oklahoma and beyond. OSU grants concurrent credit both through its Cowboy Concurrent Online and Early University in-person offerings. Occasionally, as part of their assigned workload, Academy faculty may also teach online and/or in-person courses to OSU students enrolled on its Stillwater, Tulsa, or distance campuses. In partnership with OSU’s Division of Academic Affairs, the College of Arts and Sciences has developed, or is in the process of developing, nearly three dozen discrete concurrent courses. All concurrent courses award students general-education credit, much of which doubles as credit toward students’ high-school graduation requirements. All CAS concurrent courses must pass through a rigorous development, approval, and revision process. Meanwhile, students from across the State of Oklahoma can earn, with full tuition remission, up to 27 college credit hours while they remain enrolled in high school—up to nine hours during their junior years and 18 hours during their senior years.
