About The Position

The Nebraska Wesleyan University (NWU) Nursing Program has an opening for a full-time Visiting Instructor or Assistant Professor faculty position with a start date of August 17, 2026. This faculty member will primarily teach in the Pre-licensure BSN program. NWU may be posting a more permanent full-time position in Spring 2027, and the visiting assistant professor would be encouraged to apply. Nebraska Wesleyan University is an independent Methodist liberal arts university of approximately 1,500 undergraduate and graduate students in Lincoln, Nebraska. Requirements

  • A master's degree in nursing required.
  • License to practice nursing in the state of Nebraska is required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student academic achievement.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a variety of constituents.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness to offer office hours or availability to students outside of scheduled lectures and labs.

Nice To Haves

  • Earned doctorate or near completion will be given preference.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate nursing courses.
  • Work with nursing faculty to plan, implement, and evaluate nursing curriculum, and related activities.
