About The Position

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) is seeking a Visiting Instructional Assistant Professor of Art (Foundations and Digital) for a one-year, non-tenure-track appointment beginning Fall 2026. This full-time, 9-month position focuses on undergraduate instruction in Art Foundations and Digital Media, with a 4/4 teaching load. The role involves studio teaching, student engagement, and active participation in departmental activities, including regular, in-person instruction on campus. The primary teaching responsibilities include undergraduate studio courses such as 3D Design (Foundations), Drawing I, and Digital Media I and II, catering to introductory, intermediate, and advanced students. The faculty member will also contribute to departmental activities, support exhibitions and gallery operations, mentor and advise students, and engage in service activities benefiting the Art program, department, and college.

Requirements

  • Earned MFA in Digital Media, Studio Art, or a closely related field by the start date.
  • College-level teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated ability, or clear potential, to teach undergraduate foundational studio courses in 3D design, drawing, and digital media.
  • Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and student engagement.
  • Experience working with students at multiple skill levels.
  • Ability to contribute to a collaborative program environment and support shared departmental responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate studio courses including 3D Design (Foundations), Drawing I, and Digital Media courses (Digital Media I and II).

  • Teach students at introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels.
  • Participate in departmental activities and support a collaborative program environment.
