About The Position

The Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the College of the Holy Cross is seeking a full-time visiting faculty member in Chinese Studies for the 2026-2027 academic year, starting in August 2026. This is a one-year appointment. The role involves teaching three courses per semester. The college is committed to supporting undergraduate teaching and inclusive pedagogies.

Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English.
• PhD or ABD with expertise in Chinese literature and culture.
• Experience teaching Chinese language at the college level in the U.S.
• Demonstrate commitment to, and excellence in, undergraduate teaching and inclusive pedagogies.
• PhD or ABD in related fields.
• Experience teaching Mandarin at the college level in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to offer courses on Chinese literature and Chinese culture from interdisciplinary perspectives.

Responsibilities

• Teach 3 courses each semester.
