About The Position

The Department of Biology at Sacred Heart University is seeking to fill two nine-month full-time Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor positions. One position focuses on Anatomy and Physiology, and the other on General Biology and Ecology. The roles require a demonstrated ability to excel in undergraduate teaching, including specialized instruction for nursing and major-level Anatomy and Physiology. The Ecology position involves supervising up to 15 students in sophomore-level Ecology laboratories at both forest and shoreline field sites, located within a 25-minute drive of the university, in addition to traditional laboratory instruction. A strong commitment to the university's mission and its student-centered approach is essential. The successful candidates will foster a collegial and collaborative atmosphere, integrating the university's mission and values to support the success of all community members.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Biology or a related field in the biological sciences (ABD considered).
  • Ability to drive an 8-passenger van to field sites (for Biology/Ecology candidates).
