About The Position

The school seeks candidates to teach lectures and laboratory classes for undergraduates in the two-semester general chemistry sequence. Candidates will also be expected to contribute to the teaching of biochemistry and/or organic chemistry, as well as additional courses in their area(s) of expertise based on the needs of the school and college. The typical teaching load is the equivalent of 12 credits per semester. The successful candidate will demonstrate the capacity for excellence in teaching, and also engage in curriculum development and participate in academic advising, recruiting, course and program assessment, and service to the school, college and university.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree in chemistry or a closely related field is required at the time of appointment.
  • Commitment to teaching with inclusive pedagogies that promote active engagement to foster student learning.

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D.
  • A combination of education and professional experience that provide commensurate qualifications.
  • Training in organic chemistry, biochemistry, green chemistry, analytical chemistry, toxicology and/or biotechnology.
  • Ability to contribute to course development in areas of applied chemistry that complement current university growth areas.
