The Department of Sociology and Communication seeks applications from qualified candidates for a full-time, non-tenure-track one-year appointment in Communication beginning in Fall 2026. The successful candidate will be able to teach classes in media writing, news editing, mass communication, and/or specialty areas, contribute to service within the department, and maintain an active research agenda. The Communication program has a mix of professional and research faculty. The program has 140 majors and offers a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with tracks in Mass Communication and Media. The program also houses three award-winning student media outlets: The Mesquite (Online Newspaper), El Espejo (Student Magazine), and Enlace (Digital Media Lab).
