JOB DESCRIPTION: The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Pomona College invites applications for a full-time three-year, non-tenure track, Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Statistics. Candidates with a Ph.D. in mathematics, statistics, or related fields are welcome to apply. Please note: the position is designated for three years, but the subsequent two years are contingent upon successful teaching evaluations in the first. The teaching load is the equivalent of five semester-long undergraduate courses a year and includes the direction of senior-thesis research projects. We seek candidates who are committed to excellence in teaching and research, and who are excited about mentoring and supervising undergraduate research. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in hand by July 1, 2026
  • Employment is contingent upon providing proof of the legal right to work in the United States as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 for the duration of the contract, July 1, 2026, until June 30, 2029.
