About The Position

The Department of History is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor qualified to teach a full load of undergraduate courses in medieval and early-modern European history, along with a world history survey. This is a one-year appointment beginning August 17, 2026. Teaching responsibilities include a survey on World History to 1500, a survey on Medieval History, a survey on Early Modern European History (1450-1750), and possibly upper-level courses in these fields.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in History by date of appointment for appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor
  • ABD in History by date of appointment for appointment as Instructor

Responsibilities

  • Teach a full load of undergraduate courses in medieval and early-modern European history
  • Teach a world history survey
  • Teach a survey on World History to 1500
  • Teach a survey on Medieval History
  • Teach a survey on Early Modern European History (1450-1750)
  • Possibly teach upper-level courses in medieval, early-modern European, and world history fields
