Loyola Marymount University (LMU) Department of History is seeking an outstanding Visiting Assistant Professor who values its Mission and shares its commitment to inclusive excellence and the building of a just society. LMU is a Hispanic‑Serving Institution (HSI), Black‑Serving Institution (BSI), and Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander‑Serving Institution (AANAPISI). The department seeks a dedicated teacher-scholar with evidence of or the potential for teaching excellence. This non-tenure track faculty appointment is for the academic year of August 2026-May 2027. Continuation beyond the initial term, if any, will be determined based on institutional needs and applicable review processes. The position has a six-course teaching load for the academic year (3-3). Successful candidates will teach Lower-Division courses in colonial and modern Latin American and modern world history, as well as Upper-Division courses in their field of expertise.
