About The Position

The Department of History at The University of Memphis invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Ancient Mediterranean History. This is a non-tenure track position with a term of one academic year (2026-2027), beginning August 17, 2026, through May 15, 2027. Candidates must submit their application through The University of Memphis website. Requirements

  • PhD is required at time of appointment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Teach three courses per semester.
  • Teach undergraduate World History surveys.
  • Teach upper-division undergraduate courses in Greek and Roman history in both classroom and online formats.
