About The Position

The Visitation Monitor professionally supervises parent-child visits and exchanges, creating safe, neutral environments that support family relationships while protecting children’s safety and well-being. The role involves observing and documenting interactions objectively, ensuring compliance with court orders and center guidelines, and maintaining a calm, supportive presence during emotionally charged situations. The monitor prepares children for visits, provides general case management and administrative support, and follows safety protocols while working with families affected by domestic violence, custody disputes, and child welfare involvement. The position requires balancing compassion with professional boundaries, de-escalating conflict, and structuring visits to prioritize children’s emotional and physical safety. The position may be performed in an office environment, with duties usually completed while seated and occasional standing or walking. Travel to various locations may be required, including driving to courthouses or other appointments or presentations. The schedule listed is Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday (2/4), and the role requires flexible hours that may include weeknights and weekends. This is designated an essential position: employees must report for scheduled hours during inclement weather, holidays, or facility closures unless leadership says otherwise. Essential employees working during closures caused by inclement weather receive time-and-a-half pay. The Family Place empowers survivors of family violence through safe housing, counseling, and skills that support independence, community engagement, and social change. The organization values collaboration, excellence, accountability, and a mission-focused approach centered on clients.
