Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and without direct supervision.
  • Experience working with children and/or adolescents.
  • Willingness to travel and work non-traditional business hours.
  • Exhibit consistent personal integrity in dealings with youth, families, co-workers, and agency personnel.
  • The temperament to work with, and care for, children and families with special needs.
  • Must demonstrate sensitivity to Elk Hill’s service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • High-School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Maintain valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Maintain training in the administration of Naloxone and be willing and able to administer Naloxone in an overdose emergency.
  • Maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise visits of non-custodial parents with their child(ren), monitoring and intervening if necessary with inappropriate behaviors.
  • Report any problems or concerns regarding a specific client, social worker, or visitation request promptly.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of youth and families, including flexibility, a non-threatening manner, respect for autonomy, confidentiality, socio-cultural values, personal goals, lifestyle choices, family interactions, and professional boundaries.
  • Provide the number of hours per month/week contracted by the placing agency.
  • Complete session progress notes for each session and provide them to the supervisor as required.
  • Attend FAPT, treatment team, or family engagement meetings as requested by the supervisor.
  • Maintain a driving record that meets Elk Hill's requirements.
  • Maintain liability coverage on a personal auto insurance policy at the level required by Elk Hill.
  • Participate in face-to-face supervision with a supervisor at least once per month.
  • Work cooperatively with all Elk Hill staff to improve the quality of the organization.
