About The Position

The Vision System Technician will work with Manufacturing and Engineering to implement, maintain and improve all equipment using vision system technology for inspecting and verifying product at each facility. This role will require working across both our Memorial and Pierce facilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years working in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to self-check own work.
  • Task oriented, excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload. Excellent time management skills.
  • Enthusiastic attitude, cooperative team player, adaptable to new or changing circumstances. Strong team minded approach.
  • Professional demeanor, sensitive to customer needs.
  • Self-motivated, creative and innovative. Strong "can do" attitude.
  • Conceptual Thinking – Ability to think in terms of abstract ideas.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to focus on issues that need investigation, collecting data, analyze and make recommendations to correct issues.
  • Proficient in data gathering and analysis. Strong analytical mindset.
  • High level of computer literacy including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Outlook.
  • Experience with measurement devices, such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Works efficiently and calmly in a fast paced, production work environment.
  • High energy and strong work ethics. Can multi-task effectively.
  • Coachable and eager to learn new tools e.g. Laser technology, Minitab, etc.
  • Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.

Responsibilities

  • Support all machines operations with vision system.
  • Attention to detail in regards to specifications, graphics and color when setting up the vision system.
  • Work with Operators and Leads to ensure the process is being followed.
  • Working with and guiding Card Finishing Technicians with vision adjustments.
  • Overseeing vision files to ensure they are optimized.
  • Organize vision files with a correct naming convention.
  • Update pass/fail criteria when getting false positives or vice versa.
  • First in line to troubleshoot and resolve vision system issues in production.
  • Check machines status against standards.
  • Independently research a specific problem in production by gathering data.
  • Programming new products with precise search areas for inspection and knockout areas to omit.
  • Special requests and prototyping. May be required to perform special assignments and prototyping.
  • Timely Corrective Action response and resolution to relevant project situations.
  • Engage and support company-wide Safety and Cleanliness programs.
  • As part of the EMS- Environment Management System, will meet compliance obligations and accountability by contributing but not limited to the company's recycling guidelines, proper waste and other environmental performance practices.
  • Will be required to perform other job functions, as assigned.
