About The Position

The role of the Virtual Teller is to provide members with services such as but not limited to; cash and check withdrawals, cash and check deposits, transfers, loan and visa payments, transaction information, and crossing-selling products/services that will benefit our members. The Virtual Teller will assist members via the Interactive Teller Machines located at multiple Branch locations. Virtual Tellers must be willing to work flexible schedules to accommodate the hours and business needs of the Virtual Branch.

Requirements

  • Must have 2+ years of customer service and cash handling experience.
  • Employee must be professional, dependable, and flexible.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with members as well as co-workers.
  • Maintain enthusiasm towards job functions and duties.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all Credit Union products and services.
  • Ability to evaluate each member’s financial situation and cross-sell beneficial products and services.
  • Employee must possess problem resolution skills.
  • Maintain knowledge of rules and regulations that govern credit unions including but not limited to, BSA, OFAC and Reg. CC.
  • Perform job functions independently, or with limited supervision, and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
  • Read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions.
  • Complete complex mathematical calculations and spell accurately.
  • Speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence.
  • Deal calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public.

  • The incumbent is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; typing; viewing a computer screen and reading.
  • Climb/descend stairs in an emergency situation.
  • Operate routine office equipment including personal computers, copy machines, mobile and landline phones, calculator and others as needed.
  • Maintain working on a computer for six to eight hours daily, on average.
  • Work extended hours if required or requested by management.
  • Regular, reliable and timely attendance.

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operating the ITM and performing most of the same functions as traditional teller I.e., Cash checks, take deposits, make cashier’s checks.
  • Uncover and recommend needs for our members that new products or services can fulfill.
  • Referring recommendations to the Member Experience Specialist on site.
  • Balancing virtual cash drawers verifying all transactions match daily balance reports from TellerNow! and Symitar to uphold accuracy standards within the department.
  • Provide daily function support during the opening/closing of the department.
  • First point of contact to assist members at the ITM machines.
  • Actively listens to identify product/service recommendations during member interactions.
  • Display a high level of integrity, trustworthiness, and professionalism at all times.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • May be assigned other duties as needed to support overall branch operation.
  • Support sales and service objectives; meet monthly, quarterly and annual goals set forth by management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • Pay rate ranging from $21- $26 per hour
