About The Position

The Virtual Telemetry Monitor Technician works in the Centralized Monitoring Virtual Department at Texas Health Plano. This role is responsible for monitoring patient telemetry data, collecting and documenting patient information, and initiating actions for continuity of care. The department is recognized as one of Fortune's Great Places to Work and operates under a Shared Governance Model. Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano is a 386-bed, full-service hospital serving North Texas, known for its advanced technology, dedicated team, and a wide range of specialties including emergency medicine, cardiology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and women's services. The hospital is undergoing expansion with a new patient tower and renovations, and holds designations such as Level II Trauma Facility, Level IV NICU, Level IV Maternal Facility, DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Primary Heart Attack Center. Requirements

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required
Basic Understanding/ability to learn medical terminology

Nice To Haves

1 year of telemetry monitoring is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Demonstrates competency in the set up and use of the telemetry monitoring equipment.
Collects, reports, and documents patient information (rhythms/rate) timely and accurately.
Seeks assistance, supervision, or consultation when unsure of rhythm(s) identification.
Distinguishes and reports abnormalities and initiates action to provide continuity of care.
Serves as a patient advocate.
Assists with documentation that supports and meets hospital and regulatory requirements.
