About The Position
The Virtual Telemetry Monitor Technician will be responsible for monitoring patient telemetry equipment, collecting, reporting, and documenting patient information (rhythms/rate) timely and accurately. This role involves distinguishing and reporting abnormalities, initiating action for continuity of care, and serving as a patient advocate. The technician will also assist with documentation that supports hospital and regulatory requirements. This position is part of the Centralized Monitoring Virtual Department at Texas Health Plano.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required
- Basic Understanding/ability to learn medical terminology
Nice To Haves
- 1 year of telemetry monitoring is strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competency in the set up and use of the telemetry monitoring equipment.
- Collects, reports, and documents patient information (rhythms/rate) timely and accurately.
- Seeks assistance, supervision, or consultation when unsure of rhythm(s) identification.
- Distinguishes and reports abnormalities and initiates action to provide continuity of care.
- Serves as a patient advocate.
- Assists with documentation that supports and meets hospital and regulatory requirements.
