About The Position
The Virtual Telemetry Monitor Technician works onsite at Texas Health Plano in the Centralized Monitoring Virtual Department. The role monitors patient telemetry, documents patient information, identifies and reports abnormalities, and supports continuity of care and hospital documentation requirements. The schedule is full-time nights: 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with rotating weekends.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification before providing independent patient care, maintained quarterly.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology or ability to learn it.
Nice To Haves
- One year of telemetry monitoring experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate competency in setting up and using telemetry monitoring equipment.
- Collect, report, and document patient information, including rhythms and rates, promptly and accurately.
- Seek assistance, supervision, or consultation when unsure about rhythm identification.
- Distinguish and report abnormalities and initiate action to provide continuity of care.
- Serve as a patient advocate.
- Assist with documentation that supports and meets hospital and regulatory requirements.
