About The Position

This role is for a full-time Virtual Telemetry Monitor Technician working nights at Texas Health Plano. The technician will be responsible for monitoring patient telemetry, collecting and reporting rhythm and rate data, and identifying abnormalities. The position is part of a Centralized Monitoring Virtual Department and requires working onsite. The hospital, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano, is a 386-bed facility serving North Texas with a wide range of specialties and advanced technology. It is a Level II Trauma Facility, has Level IV NICU and Level IV Maternal Facility designations, and is a DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center. The hospital is also Magnet-designated and has an AACN Beacon Gold adult intensive care unit. The role involves working 36 hours a week, with three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, including rotating weekends.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required
  • Basic Understanding/ability to learn medical terminology

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of telemetry monitoring is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates competency in the set up and use of the telemetry monitoring equipment.
  • Collects, reports, and documents patient information (rhythms/rate) timely and accurately.
  • Seeks assistance, supervision, or consultation when unsure of rhythm(s) identification.
  • Distinguishes and reports abnormalities and initiates action to provide continuity of care.
  • Serves as a patient advocate.
  • Assists with documentation that supports and meets hospital and regulatory requirements.
