Virtual Sleep Health - NP/PA - Full-Time
About The Position
This is a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) position within the Wake Forest Health Network: Wellness Hub - Sleep Medicine department. The role involves performing medical history, physical examinations, and daily assessments, as well as recording findings and determining treatment plans. The position also includes performing minor office-based procedures, writing prescriptions, ordering and interpreting lab and radiology exams, and documenting all patient encounters. The NP/PA will act as a patient advocate and participate in practice meetings and policy development when requested. The schedule is primarily weekday shifts (M-F 8a-5p) with 1 hour of admin time per day, and up to 200 hours of weekend and/or night coverage.
Requirements
- Master's Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required.
- License to practice as a Registered Nurse required.
- Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required.
- Must speak English fluently and in understandable terms.
- Must possess intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity.
- Must have the ability to react and perform in stressful situations.
Nice To Haves
- ACNP, AGACNP, AGNP, PNP, or PNP-AC board certification preferred based population served.
Responsibilities
- Performs initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations, and daily assessments.
- Records findings of examinations, assessments and plan of care.
- Performs minor office-based medical and/or surgical procedures.
- Writes appropriate prescriptions and administers medications.
- Orders and interprets daily laboratory and radiology examinations.
- Determines treatment plan for patient.
- Documents all patient encounters, records observations, interventions, and actions in a medically appropriate manner on the patient's medical record.
- Acts as a patient advocate for the population served.
- Attends, participates and contributes to group/practice meetings and development of policies and procedures when requested.
