About The Position

Signature HealthCARE is hiring a Virtual Sitter to help ensure resident safety through continuous remote monitoring. The role involves monitoring residents at risk of falls, elopement, or self-harm, and communicating promptly with facility staff to help prevent adverse events and support a positive resident experience. The position is onsite at Signature HealthCARE’s Corporate Office in Louisville, Kentucky, and follows a 7 p.m.–7 a.m. schedule every Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
Experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and in navigating the internet and intranet.

Nice To Haves

At least two years of healthcare experience.
Certification as a Certified Nurse’s Aide (CNA) or Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

Continuously observe residents through remote monitoring equipment and room safety cameras to identify potential harm, including dislodging drains, tubes, or IVs and attempting to get up without assistance.
Coordinate with facility nurses on camera adjustments for privacy during daily care, physician visits, and other appropriate situations.
Obtain a verbal report from the resident’s nurse about limitations, redirection plans, care needs, diagnoses, and special considerations.
Collaborate with the manager regarding concerns that do not require immediate physical intervention.
Observe resident activity and behavior and redirect residents as needed.
Immediately notify floor nurses when physical intervention may be needed, such as toileting assistance or help returning to bed.
Identify safety risks and communicate when assistance should be escalated.
Work cooperatively as a team member and respond to directions from the responsible nurse as resident or unit needs change.
Communicate professionally and show respect to residents, families or significant others, and other healthcare team members.
