About The Position

SPRCHRGR is seeking stellar Virtual CFOs to support a diverse mix of businesses, from cutting-edge startups to private equity funds. This role involves building and managing strong client relationships, bringing financial planning & analysis and leadership expertise to drive business intelligence and strategy for growing businesses. Virtual CFOs will build financial forecast models, annual budgets, operating plans, profitability & variance analyses, and cash flow models. They will also lead and work on special projects such as KPI analyses, cohort analyses, inventory demand planning, due diligence support, and M&A support. Additionally, they may be involved as functional analysts in custom software development work to enhance clients' back-office operations. This position directs the work of FP&A Managers and Sr. Financial Analysts, offering hands-on mentoring within a team-based approach. It is a proactive, solution-oriented role supporting clients in the fast-paced startup and high-growth SMB environment. Opportunities for increased earnings exist through profit-sharing bonuses and other executive compensation awards.

Requirements

  • 12+ years in a financial role with at least 8+ years as a finance leader
  • Strong understanding of equity and debt financing
  • Familiarity with managing startup equity cap tables
  • Proven track record in successfully supporting growth using strong analytical skills and effective financial modeling and tracking
  • Experience leading financial budgeting and financial planning process
  • Ability to oversee and review corporate accounting functions
  • Solid understanding of financial compliance requirements and experience implementing and managing financial policies
  • Proactive and client-centric attitude
  • Fast learner w/ability to effectively prioritize and manage time
  • Hungry for experience in fast-paced, dynamic business environments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, PowerPoint, learning new software

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and direct the work of FP&A Managers and Sr. Financial Analysts on our staff
  • Responsible for overall fiscal operations: direct our dedicated accounting teams on their functions supporting the full monthly accounting cycle of client businesses
  • Supervise client engagements and occasionally direct the client’s own internal accounting & finance team
  • Maintain useful relationships with outside partners and vendors engaged with each client business
  • Develop short-range and long-range financial plans to achieve established corporate goals and maximize client profitability
  • Provide ongoing financial analysis and modeling to a range of company leaders in support of key business decisions
  • Present timely and valid interpretation of operating results to board of directors and senior management team of clients
  • Provide sound leadership in complying with financial and legal requirements
  • Attend client board meetings (virtually)
  • Support clients with investor capital raise activities and bank debt negotiations
  • Prepare for and support buy-side and sell-side due diligence for client businesses
  • Analyze current market trends and competition of clients’ industries
  • Collaborate with others to solve ad-hoc technical finance and accounting challenges
  • Assist with systems implementations and custom software solutions
