About The Position

IB Abel is seeking a Virtual Design & Construction Intern for Spring 2027 to assist with electrical design coordination, BIM/VDC processes, and virtual design to prefabrication workflows. The intern will work under the supervision of professional staff, supporting tasks such as using Autodesk Revit and Navisworks for design coordination, clash detection and resolution, reviewing drawing scopes and revisions, and documenting project changes. This role offers hands-on experience in supporting electrical construction projects and contributing to the VDC department's goals.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, or Certification in Construction/Engineering related field, Computer-Aided Design (CAD)/Design Technology
• Technical school students with relevant coursework or experience in Revit, Navisworks, BIM, or CAD are encouraged to apply.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with electrical design coordination using Autodesk Revit
• Assisting with Virtual Design to Prefabrication workflows and handoffs
• Performing Clash Detection and Resolution using Autodesk Navisworks and Revit
• Performing drawing scope revision reviews, documenting changes (blueprints and finding changes)
