About The Position

This internship offers hands-on professional experience and mentorship in a fast-paced environment, allowing interns to enhance their design portfolios. As an integral part of Wolf Trap’s creative team, interns will design a variety of materials including signage, multi-page publications, invitations, and print/Web ads. The role involves juggling multiple projects simultaneously, learning to build production schedules, and meeting deadlines. Responsibilities also include preparing work for prepress, reviewing proofs, and communicating with printers.

Requirements

  • Talented graphic design students with an interest in performing arts or music preferred.
  • Strong technical skills in Adobe creative suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) on Mac platform.
  • Strong understanding and appreciation for typography.
  • Motion graphic skills a plus.
  • Strong proofreading skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Upload at least three portfolio samples showing type and layout skills only. Samples must be submitted as a multipage PDF (max file size 5 MB).
  • Undergraduate students (must have completed at least 1 year of undergraduate study).
  • Graduate students.
  • Recent graduates (up to 2 years out of school).
  • Career-changers currently enrolled in a degree program.
  • International students (J-1 or F-1 Visa required).
  • Must be physically located in and have a local address in Virginia, Maryland, or the District of Columbia for the duration of their employment.
