About The Position

The Viral Hepatitis Prevention Coordinator administers the statewide Viral Hepatitis Prevention Program by planning, implementing, and evaluating prevention initiatives, public education efforts, and outreach activities. The position develops communication strategies, manages prevention projects, coordinates the Viral Hepatitis Task Force, and supports implementation of the Viral Hepatitis Elimination Plan. Work involves analyzing and resolving technical program challenges, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and promoting established public health efforts across North Carolina. The role operates under limited supervision in a statewide program environment and may include supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of experience in the program related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan statewide viral hepatitis prevention initiatives, education efforts, and outreach activities to advance public health goals.
  • Implement and evaluate prevention projects and public awareness campaigns supporting viral hepatitis elimination efforts.
  • Develop communication strategies and educational materials for healthcare providers, community partners, and the public.
  • Coordinate the Viral Hepatitis Task Force and facilitate collaboration among state, local, and community‑based partners.
  • Support the development and execution of the Viral Hepatitis Elimination Plan through project management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Analyze and resolve technical program challenges related to statewide prevention activities.
  • Promote viral hepatitis prevention programs through public engagement, partnership development, and resource dissemination.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve statewide prevention strategies and strengthen community partnerships.
  • Maintain program effectiveness through administrative oversight, documentation, and adherence to public health standards.
  • Supervise staff as needed to support program implementation and statewide coordination.
