About The Position

The VIP Event Specialist supports VIP and celebrity functions at Madison Square Garden, The Theater, Beacon Theatre, Radio City Music Hall, and other venues, as well as company events held offsite throughout the year. The role focuses on delivering top-tier guest experiences and calls for a self-starter who can multitask and maintain close attention to detail before and during events. The position offers hospitality and event training, with development opportunities in Company Events, VIP Hospitality, and Celebrity Relations.

This is a part-time, event-driven position, typically scheduled weekly. It may also include regular office hours providing administrative support to the Events team. The role requires a flexible schedule, primarily nights and weekends, with some holidays, and may involve travel as needed.

Requirements

• Two years of experience in hospitality or events.
• Detail-oriented and self-sufficient, with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to solve problems, resolve conflicts, and handle customer situations promptly and discreetly in a VIP environment.
• Ability to manage a high volume of customer interaction and multitask in a highly visible environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and transport or handle boxes containing event elements.
• Availability for a flexible schedule, mostly nights and weekends, with some holidays required.
• Availability for in-office work as needed.
• Reachable by email on nights and weekends.
• Possible availability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for and execute events, including organizing and setting up gifting, décor, guest lists, and other event elements.
• Provide on-site event assistance with ingress and egress, hospitality, and activations.
• Complete post-event wrap-up.
• Perform administrative tasks to support the department and team.
• Create positive and memorable guest experiences during sporting, entertainment, family, and corporate events.
• Execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced service environment.
• Provide exceptional experiences for guests, partners, and team members while following appearance and presentation guidelines on site.
