This position will recruit and teach violin students at elementary through advanced levels for both pre-college and adults. The instructor will teach non-college elementary, intermediate, and advanced violin students with an emphasis on basic technique and command of appropriate repertoire. Responsibilities include evaluating students to determine appropriate skill level, recruiting and maintaining a studio of non-college violin students, and participating in departmental activities such as student auditions, recitals, concerts, workshops, and faculty meetings. The instructor will also cooperate with and encourage students to audition for the orchestra conductors and chamber music program, assist students with recording sessions for auditions and competitions, maintain a lesson schedule, hold regular studio recitals, and arrange performance opportunities for students. Additional duties include attending school and departmental events, holding parent meetings/conferences, evaluating students, performing administrative tasks related to student records, and providing counseling on musical development.
