About The Position
The University of Oklahoma Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts School of Music seeks a dedicated Interim Instructor/Lecturer of Violin to join a program long known for the nurturing and development of generations of gifted musicians and teachers. This position is a one-year appointment.
Requirements
- Earned Master's Degree in Violin Performance
- Evidence of effective teaching and performing
Nice To Haves
- Earned Doctorate in Violin Performance
- Collegiate teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate levels
- Creative/scholarly accomplishments demonstrated through national solo, chamber, and orchestral performances
Responsibilities
- Teaching undergraduate and graduate applied violin courses as assigned by the School of Music
- Teaching and inspiring students in string quartet, chamber music, and other courses in the area of violin and string performance and pedagogy as needed by the program
- Participating in all String Area activities, including recruitment, auditions, juries, and outreach
