About The Position

LTC is seeking contracted Vietnamese language interpreters in York, Pennsylvania. The interpreter will accept appointments on an as-needed basis and provide on-site, in-person interpretation. Candidates should be fluent in English and Vietnamese and have experience interpreting, ideally in a variety of settings such as medical, social work, education, and workplace environments. This is an independent contractor vendor role paid on an IRS Form 1099 basis; the interpreter will not be an LTC employee. Candidates must live within commuting distance of York.

Requirements

• Fluency in English and Vietnamese.
• At least 2 years of medical interpreting experience.
• At least 3 years of interpreting experience.
• Ability to keep accurate records.
• Must live within commuting distance of York, Pennsylvania.

Nice To Haves

• Interpreting certifications are preferred.
• Experience interpreting in a variety of settings, including medical, social work, education, and workplace settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site, in-person interpretation.
• Act as a liaison using the client’s preferred language.
• Interpret accurately and appropriately for the setting and audience.
• Comply with state, local, and federal privacy and confidentiality laws and regulations regarding medical information, including HIPAA.
• Keep accurate records.
