About The Position

As a VIE IT & Lab Infrastructure Engineer, you will help operate, maintain, and improve Ateme’s IT and engineering lab environment in Denver. Working hands-on across systems, networks, servers, virtualization, and video infrastructure, you will troubleshoot technical issues and take ownership of day-to-day IT and lab operations in coordination with Ateme’s IT, Engineering, and Cybersecurity teams.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, IT Infrastructure, or a related technical field.
  • Good knowledge of Linux, Windows, TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, servers, and virtualization.
  • Ability to work hands-on in a lab environment and lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous exposure to video delivery, broadcast, streaming, media technology, or telecommunications is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Python, Bash, APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies is a plus.
  • Hands-on, proactive, organized, and able to troubleshoot technical issues and work autonomously in an international environment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows systems, servers, workstations, and network equipment.
  • Administer network infrastructure including switches, WiFi, WAN, VLANs, routing, and connectivity.
  • Manage firewall rules, access requirements, and network security in coordination with Ateme’s IT and Cybersecurity teams.
  • Monitor infrastructure availability and troubleshoot system and network incidents.
  • Maintain infrastructure documentation, configurations, network diagrams, and inventories.
  • Participate in hardware lifecycle management, infrastructure upgrades, and capacity planning.
  • Operate and maintain the Denver engineering lab, including servers, racks, workstations, storage, and virtualization platforms.
  • Maintain video-specific infrastructure including SDI routing, RF/antenna systems, origin servers, fiber switching, and NMOS controllers.
  • Install and replace equipment, manage cabling, and coordinate RMA and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Maintain containerized and Kubernetes-based lab environments.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues across systems, networks, hardware, and lab infrastructure.
  • Ensure lab systems remain organized, documented, reliable, and available for engineering testing, validation, and demonstrations.
  • Develop scripts and tools to automate recurring IT and lab operations using technologies such as Python, Bash, APIs, and YAML.
  • Improve infrastructure monitoring, configuration, inventory, and internal tools.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, scalability, and standardization.
  • Contribute to infrastructure upgrades and modernization projects.
  • Develop and maintain technical procedures and operational documentation.
  • Apply Ateme IT and cybersecurity standards within the Denver environment.
  • Participate in firewall, access-control, and infrastructure security activities.
  • Maintain accurate systems, access, and network documentation.
  • Coordinate local infrastructure requirements with Ateme’s IT and Cybersecurity teams.
