About The Position

We are seeking a Video Triage Engineer to support software quality, field issue resolution, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency across a diverse range of video devices. The role requires strong hands-on experience with C/C++, Python, Linux, networking protocols, log analysis, monitoring, and AWS data services. The engineer will investigate end-to-end issues, identify root causes, develop mitigation strategies, and improve operational tooling.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with C/C++.
• Strong Linux experience.
• Strong Python experience and/or experience with another scripting language such as Bash or Go.
• Experience with log management and analysis tools, including: Elastic Stack / ELK, Splunk, Grafana
• Experience troubleshooting Linux-based systems and networking protocols.
• Experience with packet capture analysis.
• Experience with AWS services such as S3, Athena, and/or QuickSight.
• Experience with SQL and/or Amazon Athena.
• Experience with Jira or other defect tracking tools.
• Experience with Git and GitHub.
• Ability to analyze field data and identify system-level issues.
• Experience serving in a Technical Lead or Senior Engineering role.
• Experience mentoring a small team of engineers.
• Ability to make sound technical decisions and clearly communicate the technical rationale to engineering stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and high-quality software releases across diverse video devices by proactively monitoring metrics and alerting systems.
• Respond promptly to critical field issues, identify root causes, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Troubleshoot end-to-end issues across video devices.
• Conduct source code reviews to identify root causes within components and the overall platform.
• Diagnose and resolve issues using Linux systems and networking protocols.
• Perform packet capture analysis as part of troubleshooting and root-cause investigation.
• Design and enhance operational tools to improve system performance and efficiency.
• Architect DevOps solutions to support operational requirements.
• Leverage AWS services including S3, Athena, and QuickSight to analyze data from millions of field devices.
• Deliver data-driven insights to support operational decision-making.
• Develop and implement anomaly detection techniques to proactively identify and resolve system issues.
• Perform global metric comparisons across different device models.
