About The Position

The Video Specialist role at PragerU is a dynamic, fast-paced position for a highly self-driven individual who thrives under pressure. This individual must be a well-rounded expert—capable in post-production and on set—able to juggle multiple projects, collaborate across teams, and deliver high-quality content on tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will bring an eagerness to explore and leverage the latest AI tools and has a genuine passion for kids content and storytelling. This job will be 80% post-production and 20% production.

Requirements

• Proficient with video post-production.
• Skilled with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects
• Skilled with ProTools and/or Audition (Logic Pro is a plus)
• Familiarity with finalizing video content for online distribution & social media
• Able to shoot on different camera types.
• Able to record quality sound on location.
• Possesses a strong understanding of outdoor & indoor lighting.
• Able to film content & troubleshoot effectively in studio and on location, both by him/herself without backup and as part of a team.
• Able to juggle a variety of concurrent projects in different phases with competing priorities.
• Flexible and able to “roll with the punches” within an ever-changing game plan.
• A true Team Player, proactive, helpful, honest, and calm under pressure.
• Quick to learn new processes, procedures, and technologies related to the job.
• Organized and able to follow SOP’s, learn show and brand standards, and implement notes.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of After Effects & motion graphics highly desired.
• Knowledge of AI tools including ElevenLabs, Sora, etc.
• Logic Pro is a plus.
• Familiarity with live streaming for social media.
• Familiarity with technical direction for live and live-to-tape pod casting.

Responsibilities

• Proficient with video post-production.
• Crafting story and turning footage into narrative episodes within the guidelines of a show format or brand.
• Filming & editing multiple videos and projects under very tight deadlines and short turnaround times.
• Processing post-production audio and color-correction.
• Knowledge of codecs, file types, file structures, and post processes.
• Working directly with multiple creative leads and managers to discuss and implement editorial notes.
• Taking ownership of work, but also able to hand off work to be finished by someone else, or to pick up where others have left off, when necessary.
• Pulling online source footage for re-cutting.
• Innovating and bringing effective solutions to the team.
• Doing multiple videos and other projects quickly.
• Working with other animators, editors, and other vendors.
• Shooting on different camera types.
• Recording quality sound on location.
• Possessing a strong understanding of outdoor & indoor lighting.
• Filming content & troubleshooting effectively in studio and on location, both by him/herself without backup and as part of a team.
• Spotting a filming opportunity as well as avoiding bad ones.
• Familiarity with live streaming for social media.
• Familiarity with technical direction for live and live-to-tape pod casting.
• Adapting to new elements and problems.
• Juggling a wide variety of concurrent projects in different phases for multiple departments.
• Being flexible and able to “roll with the punches” within an ever-changing game plan.
• Communicating, prioritizing, and self-managing.
• Traveling may be required on a frequent basis. It may be required to fly, or to drive to a specific location in a rental car for long stretches of time.
