About The Position

This new entry-level position helps play a key role in advancing the mission and values of the Iowa State Athletics Department by delivering the ISU brand through compelling, informative, and entertaining broadcast and in-venue productions. This position contributes to the execution and continued growth of ESPN+ broadcasts, and in-venue videoboard shows and presentations. You’ll collaborate across athletics units to produce compelling live broadcasts and videoboard shows, adjust and load graphics and animations while also supporting the technical operations that make live sports production and venue entertainment possible.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Proficiency with core production equipment, graphics systems and scoreboard control systems.
• Good troubleshooting skills with complex A/V systems.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs and maneuver into various positions to handle equipment.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with live production workflows, including operation of broadcast control room systems, production equipment, and graphics platforms such as Ross XPression.
• Experience producing and directing multi-camera sports broadcasts and in-venue videoboard shows.
• Experience supporting live sports broadcasts and in‑venue productions, including operation of sports LED displays and Daktronics control systems.
• Experience working with student and freelance broadcast production crews.

Responsibilities

• Produce or direct multi‑camera arena shows, ESPN+ broadcasts, build and control content on in‑venue displays.
• Adjust and implement graphics, animations, and visual elements for ESPN+ and in-venue displays across all facilities.
• Shoot and edit video or photos for in-venue entertainment, ESPN+ or department digital platforms.
• Assist with intro videos, broadcast opens, player headshots, sponsor elements, in‑game promotions, and scripting.
• Troubleshoot cameras, A/V systems, and production equipment.
• Consult with coaches and support staff to determine production needs and creative direction.
