About The Position

The Video Producer Associate is a hands-on media professional who independently manages routine approved video, audio, and digital-media projects from intake through delivery for courses, faculty, institutional departments, live events, grants, and approved partners. Working under the Video Producer Manager, the Associate performs preproduction, filming, editing, captioning, live-video production, media management, equipment care, client service, and task-level production leadership according to established creative, technical, accessibility, safety, and file-management standards.

Requirements

• At least two years of relevant video-production experience or an equivalent body of completed professional work is required.
• A professional portfolio demonstrating camera operation, lighting, production audio, editing, visual composition, graphics, and storytelling competence is required.
• Ability to independently manage routine production projects, files, schedules, client communication, revisions, and delivery is required.
• Knowledge of accessibility, captioning, copyright, releases, file management, metadata, storage, production safety, and quality control is required.
• Strong technical problem-solving, communication, organization, teamwork, judgment, and constituent-service skills are required.
• Demonstrated commitment to the mission, Statement of Faith, and community standards of Asbury Theological Seminary is required.

Nice To Haves

• An associate or bachelor’s degree in media production, communications, broadcasting, or a related field is preferred; equivalent demonstrable training and experience may be considered.
• Experience in educational, nonprofit, worship, institutional, live-event, or streaming production is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently manages routine, approved production projects from intake through final delivery.
• Clarifies audience, purpose, scope, deliverables, deadlines, locations, technical requirements, review responsibilities, and distribution needs with the client.
• Develops practical production plans, schedules, shot lists, equipment lists, file structures, and review milestones.
• Coordinates faculty, staff, students, studios, locations, equipment, and media requirements.
• Maintains clear communication concerning preparation, progress, revisions, constraints, and delivery.
• Applies established creative, technical, accessibility, branding, rights, storage, and quality-control standards.
• Completes approved revisions and delivers final files in required formats and locations.
• Manages and produces routine approved media for courses, faculty projects, academic programs, Communications, Advancement, the President’s Office, grants, institutional projects, and approved partners.
• Coordinates with clients to confirm audience, purpose, content, approvals, branding, rights, deadlines, and delivery requirements.
• Preserves academic-production priorities while meeting approved institutional commitments.
• Coordinates with Communications regarding public-facing branding, messaging, and distribution when applicable.
• Coordinates with grant or project leaders regarding deliverables, schedules, funding restrictions, and reporting requirements.
• Protects confidential, embargoed, copyrighted, licensed, or otherwise restricted content.
• Prepares scripts, shot lists, sets, studios, locations, equipment, graphics, media, releases, and production documentation.
• Operates studio and field cameras, lighting, microphones, teleprompters, switchers, recorders, streaming tools, and related equipment.
• Directs routine recording sessions and provides clients with clear preparation and on-camera guidance.
• Monitors image, lighting, sound, framing, continuity, media, and technical quality during recording.
• Resolves routine production problems and escalates significant technical, safety, or scope concerns.
• Maintains safe, orderly, hospitable, and professional production environments.
• Edits video and audio, performs color and sound correction, integrates approved graphics and media, and prepares files for review.
• Creates or corrects captions, transcripts, thumbnails, metadata, and accessible media elements.
• Implements approved revisions accurately and documents review status.
• Performs final quality control for technical standards, accessibility, naming, encoding, branding, and delivery requirements.
• Delivers approved files through designated platforms, storage, repositories, or distribution channels.
• Organizes project files and assets according to naming, storage, backup, rights, retention, and security practices.
• Supports the video component of live events, streaming productions, recordings, and hybrid broadcasts under the Video Producer Manager.
• Operates assigned cameras, switchers, routing systems, monitors, recorders, graphics, playback, streaming encoders, and video equipment.
• Prepares camera positions, cabling, media, graphics, recording destinations, and streaming configurations.
• Participates in rehearsals, system checks, production meetings, and post-event reviews.
• Collaborates with Event Technology personnel responsible for live audio, sound reinforcement, mixing, microphones, and related systems.
• Communicates video requirements and signal-flow dependencies clearly.
• Monitors video and stream quality and resolves routine issues within assigned authority.
• Follows standards, workflows, templates, documentation, naming conventions, accessibility requirements, and quality-control procedures established by the Video Producer Manager.
• Identifies recurring production problems, inefficient workflows, equipment limitations, software needs, storage concerns, training gaps, accessibility barriers, and quality risks.
• Researches practical alternatives and prepares recommendations supported by operational evidence when appropriate.
• Submits recommendations only to the Video Producer Manager or Director of Digital Learning and Media Services.
• Participates in approved testing, pilots, documentation updates, and workflow improvements.
• Inspects, inventories, cleans, organizes, and performs authorized routine maintenance on production equipment.
• Reports failures, missing items, damage, repair needs, software or licensing issues, safety concerns, and replacement needs promptly.
• Maintains studios, field kits, editing systems, shared storage, and media libraries in production-ready condition.
• Protects Seminary equipment, credentials, digital assets, confidential content, and intellectual property.
• Participates in LITS planning, assessment, accreditation support, and continuous-improvement activities as assigned.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant professional standards, technologies, and practices through appropriate professional development.
• Performs other duties consistent with the scope and level of the position as assigned.
• Identifies needs involving equipment, software, storage, maintenance, repairs, supplies, contractors, vendors, or services.
• Prepares recommendations describing need, expected benefit, urgency, compatibility, and operational impact.
• Submits all purchasing, repair, contractor, and vendor recommendations to the Video Producer Manager.
• Uses Seminary equipment, software, supplies, and production resources responsibly and reports loss, damage, safety concerns, licensing issues, or anticipated costs.
• Provides task-level direction, technical instruction, and on-site coordination to student workers, interns, volunteers, contractors, or temporary production assistants when assigned.
• Reports performance, conduct, safety, or quality concerns to the Video Producer Manager and does not hire, discipline, retain, dismiss, or make formal personnel commitments.
