Video Lead

Foundation
•CA$88,000 - CA$110,000•Remote

About The Position

Foundation helps B2B technology and SaaS brands get found, cited, and recommended when buyers ask AI for solutions. It does this through Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), including research, content, distribution, and optimization across LLMs, search, Reddit, YouTube, and related sources. The Video Lead owns how video is produced, its quality, and its growth at Foundation. The role builds and operates a scalable video production engine to help clients gain visibility in AI search and on YouTube. Video work primarily focuses on YouTube, as well as on-page and short-form video where it supports visibility, and includes scripts, hooks, pacing, packaging, and thumbnails. The Video Lead determines and manages the production model and partners, leads video specialists who are not yet placed in pods, establishes video craft standards and operating procedures, supports quality assurance, and contributes to hiring and performance reviews. The role also partners with GEO/AEO Marketing Directors to identify and sell video opportunities, develops new video offerings for AI visibility, educates clients, and joins sales pitches.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in video, including growing YouTube channels for B2B brands, with channel results that can be demonstrated and explained.
  • Experience building and operating a video production engine using in-house staff, freelancers, agency partners, or a combination, including familiarity with budgets, timelines, and quality management.
  • Strong expertise and point of view on video production and performance, including scripts, thumbnails, pacing, packaging, and descriptions.
  • Hands-on experience building with AI, such as agents, tools, or workflows used in real work, and ability to demonstrate how they were built.
  • Experience teaching others and raising performance standards for people who do not report directly to you.

Nice To Haves

  • A channel of your own.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as VidIQ, HeyGen, ElevenLabs, or Higgsfield.

Responsibilities

  • Own how video is produced at Foundation, selecting and managing an in-house team, freelancers, production company, or a combination, and building workflows that scale while maintaining quality.
  • Manage and develop video specialists who are not yet assigned to pods; collaborate with the resource manager on staffing, with specialists moving into pods as demand grows while remaining on the Video Lead’s dotted line.
  • Define video craft standards, including scripts, hooks, pacing, thumbnails, titles, descriptions, YouTube discoverability, and citation by AI assistants.
  • Set methods and standard operating procedures, support quality assurance, identify and address skills gaps, contribute input to reviews, and conduct the technical interview for every video hire.
  • Work with GEO/AEO Marketing Directors to identify clients who could benefit from video and support pitching those services.
  • Identify emerging video opportunities for AI visibility and develop them into offerings that can be sold and delivered.
  • Lead client working sessions and join sales pitches where video expertise can help win business.
