About The Position

Pearmill is hiring a full-time contractor to edit video for one client in a regulated industry, supporting paid advertising and organic social. Because every asset must use exact approved disclosure copy, the role emphasizes precise editing, version control, and quality assurance. The editor will cut and version existing footage, ensure all on-screen content is approved, and help build QA systems and templates that maintain accuracy at high volume. The editor works with the account producer and creative lead, with onboarding and ongoing reviews from a motion designer. Work is briefed and reviewed through Notion and Slack, with files stored in Dropbox under a set naming convention. Batches generally have two to three days of turnaround, though some client changes arrive the same day. The editor attends a weekly creative call and short check-ins during volume spikes, and owns the first check of every delivery against approved copy.

  • Expertise in After Effects and comfort using Premiere Pro.
  • Ability to use AI tools in the workflow.

  • Ability to track many near-identical versions without mixing them up.
  • Clear, proactive communication with the team and ability to raise questions or mistakes early.
  • Ability to build project files to team standards so other editors can open and continue the work.
  • Fluent written and spoken English, and comfort on video calls.
  • Based in Europe, Latin America, or Canada, with working hours that overlap US East Coast business hours.
  • Consistently meet deadlines, including during high-volume periods.

  • Maintain a consistently high level of quality on every delivery.
  • Perform the first check of each delivery against approved copy.
  • Communicate proactively, raising questions or mistakes early.
