About The Position

Turing is seeking experienced film, video, or post-production professionals to work on projects evaluating and improving AI through their expertise in video editing, storytelling, and post-production workflows. The work involves designing editing and storytelling scenarios, explaining professional editing decisions, and evaluating AI-generated responses. No prior AI experience is required. Projects are approximately one month long, with the possibility of extension. The engagement is a contractor or freelancer assignment and may potentially be full-time. The role is fully remote; compensation varies by project.

Candidates must not provide confidential or proprietary information, trade secrets, internal company or university data, specific client information, or anything that would violate confidentiality obligations. Turing is based in San Francisco and describes itself as a research accelerator for frontier AI labs and a partner to global enterprises deploying advanced AI systems.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience as a Film Editor, Video Editor, or Post-Production Specialist.
• Strong understanding of editing software and workflows, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
• Excellent English communication and writing skills.
• Ability to explain technical and creative editing concepts clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

• Design and solve real-world video editing and storytelling scenarios to test AI reasoning.
• Write clear, structured explanations of editing workflows, visual continuity, and creative decision-making.
• Evaluate AI responses for accuracy, technical quality, and alignment with professional editing standards.
• Collaborate with AI researchers to improve AI models’ understanding of editing logic, narrative flow, and visual storytelling principles.
