About The Position

Apogem Capital is a leading private markets solutions provider with decades of experience focused on the middle market, managing approximately $44 billion in assets as of December 31, 2025. Operating within the New York Life Investment Management platform, Apogem partners with institutional investors. RidgeLake Partners is Apogem Capital's middle-market GP stakes investment strategy, with offices in New York, Chicago, and Richmond. RidgeLake seeks to partner with leading middle-market private capital firms to drive sustainable growth. The Vice President role supports the PE GP Stakes strategy, focusing on investor relations and capital formation, with additional responsibilities in portfolio monitoring, valuation, and reporting. This role requires a commercial, analytically strong professional capable of producing polished investor materials, managing cross-functional processes, and communicating effectively with various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 7 to 12 years of experience in investor relations, fundraising, capital formation, placement agent work, or private markets advisory — gained at a private equity firm, GP stakes investor, placement agent, fund-of-funds, or asset management IR team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to develop compelling, polished investor-facing materials.
  • Direct experience with fundraising, investor diligence, DDQs, data rooms, LP communications, and investor meetings.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to build relationships and work effectively across investment teams, LPs, consultants, placement agents, and GP management teams.
  • Working understanding of GP business models, asset management economics, fundraising cycles, and institutional investor decision-making.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior exposure to valuation, financial diligence, or IC-level analysis (e.g., from a PE associate/VP, credit, or fund monitoring background).
  • Familiarity with GP stakes or minority-investing structures specifically.
  • Experience with portfolio monitoring tools, CRM platforms, or data room administration.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare investor-facing materials, DDQs, data requests, fundraising updates, strategy updates, pitch decks, fact sheets, case studies, and market commentary.
  • Partner with Apogem Investor Relations, Distribution, Marketing, and placement agent teams to deliver consistent messaging and timely follow-up.
  • Build and maintain a global prospect pipeline, including relationship mapping, CRM management, investor segmentation, and outreach tracking.
  • Coordinate investor meetings, annual meetings, conferences, webinars, roadshows, briefing materials, follow-ups, and virtual data room workflows.
  • Represent RidgeLake and Apogem at industry conferences and other external gatherings, building visibility and relationships within the GP stakes and private markets community.
  • Advise partner GPs on investor relations, marketing, fundraising strategy, investor targeting, LP segmentation, and capital formation readiness.
  • Help strengthen GP infrastructure, including CRM systems, diligence processes, reporting, data rooms, and LP communications.
  • Develop playbooks, templates, benchmarks, and best practices to enhance capital formation and investor engagement across the GP portfolio.
  • Facilitate strategic introductions between partner GPs and prospective LPs and track fundraising progress and feedback.
  • Help coordinate quarterly investor letters and portfolio commentary, including numbers, narrative, and process management.
  • Maintain portfolio KPIs, dashboards, and GP data collection processes.
  • Assist with periodic platform, fund, and asset-level reviews, including performance, fundraising, and strategic initiatives.
  • Support financial diligence of partner firms, including reporting accuracy, distributions, and contract compliance.
  • Monitor public comparables, private transaction activity, IPO markets, cost of capital, and other valuation inputs.
  • Contribute to capital planning, portfolio construction, cash flow forecasting, GP commitments, leverage limits, and exposure analysis.
  • Assist with initial and exit transaction materials, IC analysis, financial diligence, projections, KPIs, and GP-facing pitch materials.
  • Participate in select manager diligence meetings and support sourcing through targeted introductions.
  • Support reporting, systems, process buildout, benchmarking, back-office infrastructure, and other GP Stakes platform priorities as needed.
