About The Position

The VP Technology is a collaborative, strategic technology and systems leader who modernizes infrastructure, data, workflows, and enterprise platforms to enable innovation, revenue growth, scalability, and stronger organizational performance. Reporting to the CEO, this role partners closely with leaders across the organization to strengthen decision-making, improve operational effectiveness, reduce manual workarounds, and ensure technology enables, rather than slows, how the DPC operates and grows.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including experience leading enterprise systems, modernization, and organizational technology initiatives.
  • Experience leading technology organizations in complex, service-oriented, multi-functional environments.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise technology, systems integration, data architecture, ERP and platform implementation, cybersecurity, and organizational technology modernization.
  • Experience leading technology transformation initiatives that improve scalability, reporting, workflow effectiveness, and organizational decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data strategy, governance, interoperability, and “single source of truth” approaches that improve visibility and reduce manual workarounds.
  • Ability to evaluate where technology should be built internally versus outsourced or implemented through strategic vendor partnerships.
  • Experience implementing practical AI and automation capabilities that improve operations, efficiency, and organizational performance.
  • A leadership style defined by collaboration, transparency, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine commitment to developing people.
  • 10+ years of IT experience, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role overseeing a technology organization.
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools, Agentic AI platforms in an organizational or enterprise context.
  • Deep knowledge of Data platforms like BigQuery or Snowflake.
  • Proven experience in managing software development projects.
  • Proven experience building and leading internal IT teams, including hiring, developing, and managing technical staff.
  • Demonstrated success in modernizing IT infrastructure and operations — including cloud migration, process automation, and enterprise system implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Proven ability to lead technology change management — bringing teams and stakeholders through significant system and process transitions successfully.
  • Exceptional communication skills — able to translate complex technical topics for executive, board, and non-technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in [relevant industry, e.g., nonprofit, arts, hospitality, healthcare].
  • Background in implementing ERP, HRIS, or CRM platforms and managing the organizational change alongside technical deployment.
  • Software Development experience.
  • Familiarity with AI governance frameworks and responsible technology practices.
  • Experience managing IT in a multi-site or distributed organizational environment.
  • Experience with ERP, CRM, HRIS, enterprise data, systems integration, and modernization initiatives strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of a multi-year technology and systems roadmap aligned to DPC’s strategic direction, operating model, growth plans, and modernization priorities.
  • Own the development and management of the technology budget and capital allocation decisions, partnering with department leaders on technology spend within their budgets to ensure strategic investments balance modernization, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Strengthen enterprise data, systems integration, and workflow connectivity to improve visibility, decision-making, reporting accuracy, and organizational effectiveness across functions.
  • Partner with leaders across the organization to simplify processes/workflows, reduce friction, automate manual processes, and improve how work moves across teams and systems.
  • Ensure technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, governance practices, and vendor relationships support reliability, scalability, data integrity, and responsible risk management.
  • Identify practical opportunities for AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve operations, strengthen insights, support revenue growth, and enhance organizational capabilities.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and leadership team by translating technology opportunities, risks, investments, and trade-offs into clear business context and actionable recommendations.
  • Present to the Board of Directors and relevant committees on technology strategy, cybersecurity posture, AI governance, major technology investments, and data risk — translating complex technology matters into clear context for governance-level decision-making.
  • Build and lead a high-performing technology organization that develops team capability, strengthens service orientation, and continuously improves how technology supports the broader organization.
  • Build dedicated technology business partner capabilities embedded within departments to support planning, analysis, and decision-making — ensuring leaders have hands-on technology partnership for the systems and tools that matter most to their teams.
  • Build depth, continuity, and resilience across the technology organization, with intentional succession planning and bench development for specialized and senior technical roles as the function evolves.
